About World Physical Therapy Day
Every year on September 8th, World Physical Therapy (PT) Day is commemorated. It is a day to give physical therapists from all over the world a chance to raise awareness about the vital role their profession plays in enhancing public health and well-being.
In 1996, September 8th was designated as World PT Day. This is the date World Physiotherapy was founded in 1951.
According to the American Physical Therapy Association, the goal of physical therapy (PT) or physiotherapy is to improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, and prevent further injury by using a variety of methods, including exercises, and stretches.
Almost everyone will experience some form of physical therapy at some point in their lives. Whether you have been in an accident, have a chronic illness, or are simply experiencing the natural effects of aging, physical therapy can help. Here are just a few of the many benefits of physical therapy:
1. Pain relief. One of the most common reasons people seek out physical therapy is for pain relief.
