About Underdog Day
A day to salute, all of the underdogs, sidekicks and unsung heroes—the Number Two people who contribute so much to the Number One people we read about. (Sherlock Holmes's Dr. Watson, Batman's Robin and Robinson Crusoe's Friday are examples.)
Observed annually on the third Friday in December since its founding in 1976 by the late Peter Moeller.
