About National Take Your Cat To The Vet Day
When was the last time your moggy got its medicine? This day is a timely reminder that despite their famed nine lives, our beloved feline friends need to have regular check-ups to ensure they stay in tip-top health.
This national holiday celebrates vet care that our cats receive regularly and the wonderful vets who administer treatment to help keep our cats healthy year after year.
There are a variety of reasons why vet care is incredibly important for our feline companions, such as preventing illness, managing certain health conditions, and preventing specific issues from arising or progressing.
With routine care, we can ensure the livelihood and longevity of our feline friends for years to come. This day is simply to salute all the professionals making it possible.
This national holiday was founded by a natural cat litter company called Feline Pine. A survey conducted by Feline Pine found out through a survey that over one-third of owners only took their cat to the vet when it was notably ill and only 17% of home cats are properly vaccinated. Those numbers should be much higher to ensure proper health for cats.
After the study Feline Pine took action. By teaming up with DR. Michele Gaspar, and the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine they created National Take Your Cat To The Vet Day! DR. Michele Gaspar said about the holiday “Although your cat may appear perfectly healthy, it’s still very important to bring them to the veterinarian for an annual exam so they stay that way. We want to remind people that a thorough exam is the key to maintaining good health.”
