About National Hug a G.I. Day
Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith founded Hug A G.I. Day in 1996. A popular joke that often surfaces on the holiday reminds us that this is the only day in the 12-month calendar that is a complete sentence and a direct order: "March FORTH!"
G.I. typically refers to Army personnel but this national holiday has come to encompass members of all the military branches. So show your support to service members both past and present.
