About National Cancer Survivor’s Day
This celebration of life was first observed in 1987. On the first Sunday in June each year, hundreds of communities nationwide honor survivors who are living with and beyond cancer.
Cancer survival for common cancers Many of the most commonly diagnosed cancers have ten-year survival of 50% or more (2010-11).
More than 80% of people diagnosed with cancer types that are easier to diagnose and/or treat survive their cancer for ten years or more (2010-11).
