Let's face it, the brown bag lunch is now old school and seen as old fashioned.
Going off for the day with your lunch or break in a brown bag used to be the tradition for many people.
Then somewhere along the way, busy, working moms realized that brown-bagging your lunch wasn’t really efficient anymore. Anyway, school lunch options have expanded drastically since they were first implemented. Brown bagging your lunch might still be done by some pre-schoolers, but it’s no longer common practice by most people.
So today is a chance to brown-bag it - whether you enjoy a simple lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches, burgers or sandwiches on ham salad or rice cakes - pop it in a bag!
National Brown-Bag It Day is a perfect day to go back in time and use a brown bag as a means of carrying your lunch to school or work, with the added benefit of knowing exactly where that meal came from. Just don't use a plastic bag - even if it's brown!
