About Marine Corps Birthday
The Marine Corps' annual tradition celebrates the establishment of the organization on November 10th, 1775, by the Second Continental Congress.
The Modern US Marine Corp was created in 1775. The USMC was the only part of the Continental Army to be established by a legislative act, the rest of the Army was created by the Continental Congress. The US Marine Corps has gone through many changes over the years. It was only in the 20th century that the USMC brand that we know today came into being.
The Marine Corps has been part of the U.S. Department of the Navy since June 30th 1834 with its sister service, the United States Navy.
