Summary
Let the train take the strain on a day you cho-cho-choose.

On the third Tuesday in March, get all aboard the choo-choo on Train It Chooseday!

Train It Chooseday is a new initiative by West Midlands Railway encouraging people to ditch their car and hop on the train for one of their commutes each week.

Launching in Birmingham with a week of free train travel from March 20th - 24th 2023, Train It Chooseday is arriving to show how easy, beneficial, and all-around better it is to take the train one day a week.

Wave goodbye to the stress of traffic lights, morning rush hour and the last-minute petrol-dash, and instead cruise your way to the office by train. Unwind on your way home and boost productivity on your way in – however you do your commute, you’re sure to feel the benefits of train travel in no time!

Train It Chooseday comes with the added bonus of being cheaper on average than driving, and helping cut back on emissions (not to mention saving you ULEZ charges!).

There are several reasons why taking the train to work can be better than driving a car:

  • Time Efficiency: Trains usually follow a fixed schedule, which can help you plan your commute better and arrive at your destination on time. Moreover, trains often have dedicated tracks and can avoid traffic congestion, which means you are less likely to get stuck in traffic jams.

  • Cost-effective: Taking the train can often be cheaper than driving a car, especially if you consider the cost of fuel, parking fees, and car maintenance. Additionally, if you live in an urban area, you may not need a car at all, which can save you thousands of pounds each year.

  • Environmentally friendly: Did you know, catching the train is five times less carbon emission than taking the car (if driving alone)? So, why not start travelling greener? Additionally, taking the train can help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in cities.

  • Relaxing Commute: Taking the train can provide a more relaxing commute as you do not have to worry about navigating through traffic or finding parking. These days if you don't get a good mobile signal, most trains offer Wi-Fi, and you can use this time to catch up on work, listen to music, watch a TV show or simply relax.
