About Buy British Day
The Buy British Day takes place on October 3rd. It was established in 2014, with the aim to raise awareness of home-grown brands as well as boost sales.
The day encourages consumers to support brands and businesses that design and manufacture in Britain.
Led by Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, non-executive director of Best of Britannia, the initiative is supported by fashion designers, retailers and politicians as a way to encourage shoppers to buy more from brands and businesses that design and manufacture their products in Britain.
“Ironically the stamp ‘Made in Britain’ has long been seen as a badge of quality overseas but less so at home. ‘Buy British Day’ has been launched to try and change that,” Best of Britannia states on its website.
