The holiday got its name due to the fact that the water is the biggest treasure in Turkmenistan. Every drop of water in the dry desert climate is really worth its weight in gold. This led to creation of a unique holiday A Drop of Water Is a Grain of Gold and undertaking of special measures aimed to artificially mitigate climate of the Karakum Desert and transform it to the resort of global significance.
