The National Coffee Day has been celebrated among Brazilians since 2005 when it was included in the Calendar of Events in Brazil at the initiative of the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association – ABIC.
In Brazil, Coffee Day commemorates the beginning of the great coffee plantations in the country, responsible for representing an important historical period for the development of the Brazilian economy and society.
Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world. It has been responsible for one-third of the world’s coffee production for over 150 years.
According to data from ABIC, approximately 9 out of 10 Brazilians over 15 years old consume coffee. Whether it is carioca, cappuccino, espresso or American… Coffee is undoubtedly a “passion” of the country.
