About International Reggae Day
Jamaican music is known around the world over the last 65years for its diverse rhythmic originality in its folk and popular music genres including Mento, Ska, Rock Steady, Reggae, Dub and Dancehall. Few countries in the world have been as exponentially influential beyond its size and borders as Jamaica has through the contribution of its unique brand of creativity to the world.
In 2018, Reggae music of Jamaica was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
