About National Workplace Wellbeing Day
Ireland's National Workplace Wellbeing Day is an initiative of Food and Drink Industry Ireland, part of Ibec, and is organised by the Nutrition and Health Foundation.
Started in 2015, the nationwide campaign aims to help improve employee health through promoting better nutrition and physical activity in workplaces.
The only national day in the EU specifically dedicated by business to shine a spotlight on employee health and wellbeing, it is marked by companies across Ireland celebrating a range of health and wellbeing activities in the workplace, with up to 1,000 companies participating annually.
Sample activities for National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2021 could include: Online meditation and mindfulness practice; Online guided fitness sessions; Virtual connect sessions including team lunches, water cooler or coffee break moments; Internal competitions (baking, healthiest dish, share your workstation, fitness-related, etc.); Lunchtime 5K – encourage your staff to share a photo of their safe social distancing walk at lunch, and share a collage on Twitter by using #WorkWell
