About National Tourism Day
The day is observed to spread awareness among people about the importance of tourism for the country’s economy. National Tourism Day also appreciates India’s beauty around the globe.
National Tourism Day is celebrated on January 25th every year across India.
This day is observed by the government to encourage tourism and explain the essential role of tourism in the growth of the country.
In 1958, the government realised the importance of tourism coming to India and that led to the creation of a separate department of tourism.
The aim of creating the department was to preserve our national heritage and to look after the tourist destinations to keep their beauty intact while making them tourist-friendly.
